Does that Hemi make 365 or 395hp? I can’t remember if it was always rated at 395 or if it was uprated after a facelift.

I believe that generation was 390- 395, the prior like mine is 345.

That’s very odd, the wk2 remains rated at 365 for some reason.

Cant not see that the flare design is as big as the wheel.

Same reason my Durango’s 3.6 Pentastar (that needs 0W20 synthetic for reasons) makes 295hp, and the same motor in my 1500 makes 305... on 5W20.
No reason. Just FCA things.

I saw a black SRT-10 with yellow decals this morning. Actually I saw the same truck yesterday morning too.

Maybe emissions? Most probable is #BecauseFCA

Different packaging limitations. Remember the LS1 Camaro was rated at 285 while the Corvette had 345. Even though that “ 285HP” was 245 at the wheels...

I mean, it makes sense, maybe those -
30hp make the GC a bit more efficient (I mean, as efficient as a v8 2.4 ton SUV could be). But if they use different oil in the Pentastar it leads me to believe it must have to do with emissions or running costs.

I’m thinking the routing of the intake, exhaust, location of cats, mufflers, resonators, exhaust manifolds, all have to deal with the engine being less optimal due to routing issues.

That also makes sense, the RHD mustang looses something like 20p due to routing of the steering; despite the WK2 having a commodious
engine bay, the Ram’s is probably larger and easier to work with.

One key place I’m noticing between these two are the tight shock towers vs the wide open spaces between the frame rails.
Underneath is more telling:
The exhaust appears about a quarter inch smaller with tighter bends and manifolds that hold far closer to the block. Though from pictures I can find, exhaust manifolds seem like a very, very restrictive design on both applications.

I think OEM exhausts always tend to be quite restrictive.

The 1992-1993 Dakota’s was actually quite good with a full 3" exhaust. This actually made them among the best performers of the entire production run.
